How Gobl works
Gobl shows calories and macros for restaurant dishes and predicts how much you'll like each one, based on what you've rated before.
Where the numbers come from
- Official: published by the restaurant chain.
- Owner verified: entered by a verified owner from their recipe.
- Estimate: an AI reads the menu description, breaks the dish into likely ingredients and portion sizes, and adds up USDA nutrient values. Estimates show a range because restaurant portions vary.
Even official numbers vary. Independent lab testing has found that about one in five chain menu items differ from their listed calories by more than 100 kcal. Treat every number as a guide, not a guarantee.
Your match score
Each dish gets a 0 to 100% match. It combines the flavors and cuisines you rate highly, dishes you've rated elsewhere, how your friends rated it, and how popular it is. Rate at least three dishes to unlock personal scores.
Privacy by default
Ratings are visible to your friends unless you choose otherwise. Your calorie goals, diet, and allergies are never shown to anyone.
